I want to do a north south challenge like we discussed last season. However I got the boards up late after the crickets were chirping and didn’t get a lot of feedback on this. I’d love to know if it’s something you all would like to do. I’d work it around the Columbus Expo and the Panfish Series. Hopefully this year, but if not, if everyone lets me know what you would like to do, I can schedule for next season. I’d also like to get some shirts made (on me, since I’m getting some made for my business I can add these on super cheaply) for the inaugural event for all the participants. And if it catches on, we can do it every year alternating on Northern and Southern waters. There’s some polls in the North vs South board or you can give me your thoughts and ideas here. So far the poll has Mosquito winning for the first event. It’ll be in the north. Also, I was thinking maybe route 36 for the divider. That way Indian and Alum will be in the south. We can’t use I-70 since there’s not much to fish below that. Thoughts????????

Indian is actually north of 36. 36 comes to Marysville from Delaware circles around the north part of the city. Then goes south with 4 till it turns west heading to Urbana. Indian is northwest of me about 20 minutes.

Oh. Just learned something. Maybe 30 would be better. Thanks!
-
I think US 30 is the way to go as well.
-
US 30 sounds like a good dividing line. I would love to do a North vs South event this or next year. It would be nice to meet and fish with our Northern hardwater addicts.
-
I live about half a mile south of 30, but definitely fit into the North better. Having never fished Alum or Indian more than twice. And fish the northern lakes daily on hard Water. For fairness I feel I should be on the north side, but will agree with the majority of the participants.

Looking at the map I think 30 is the only feasible option considering other than buckeye nothing south of 70 can be counted on for safe ice. So basically half the state. Lol. 30 pretty much cuts what's left in half. And I know I wouldn't care if people close to the line chose one side or the other, but us southern boys could use you slab. ;D I've never really fished anywhere other than indian. I'm looking forward to getting on some new waters if this happens.

Would it make more sense instead if north south make it east west ? I'm all for a tournamebt

interesting thought

East West sounds good, but either way I'm in!
-
I’m arguably the most south Ice gets here in Grove City was on ponds down here the last two winters

I’m thinking East/west might be better. That was a good thought, easier to divide more evenly. Can use I-71.
-
North/South or East/West doesn't matter to me. Whatever is easier makes sense.
-
East/West would be fine by me. Would the choices of lakes work better that way?
-
I’ll have to look at that. Not sure what lies west of 71. A lot of the good Ice lakes lie in the northeast portion of the state. But if you go east vs West it would be easier to split people wise.

Sounds like fun either way and I agree East west would probably be better. I'd say the population of ice men diminishes south lol
