Title: Additional Runners on Clam Flip-Over
Post by: icebucketjohn on January 06, 2012, 12:23:43 PM
... Didn't like the bowl "springy-affect" on my Clam Nanook.  Picked up some Hyfax Runners from Mark's Bait & Tackle in Ravenna and installed them between the 2 wide flat runners..

Result: More stable floor & tub., Less wear & tear

Looks like they will definitely keep the middle from sagging. Ive never seen the bottom of a clam sled but i am really surprised at how wide the outside runners

Originally, Clam sold 3" wide Aluminum Runners.  Recent mods are now dual 1" runners on each runner base. ., Same price: $50 per set.

Good idea.  The additional runnsrs will give extra support.  Last thing you want is the middle of your shanty cracking due to no support.
