Sandusky Bay / Re: Sandusky bay?

I fished the Port Clinton side of the Bay Bridge on Saturday, 1/31/15. There were about 12 fishermen, 14 inches of ice and minimal snow cover. The water was clear and only a small amount of current. I fished wax worms on ice jigs without success, switched to small hooks and emerald shiners and caught 9 yellow perch from 6-9.5 inches. Another guys used jigs and wax worms, layed them in the mud and caught lots of 5-6 inch perch. The camera showed many white perch but none would bite. I spoke with one guy who was on the lake off Camp Perry and his group of 12 only landed 2 walleye. pretty tough day everywhere. Be safe

Out Of State Ice Fishing Trips / Crooked Lake Pike
« on: January 27, 2015, 08:47:28 AM »
Our group of 7 fished Crooked Lake on Friday and Saturday (1/23-24). Crappie and bluegil were slow on Friday with only a few fish. Switched to pike on Saturday and had about 35 pike (10 from 24-30 inches) and several largemouth up to 4 pounds. The best action was in front of the doctor's brown house in 5-6 feet of water. Shad outfished suckers 5-1. We allowed my 8 year old nephew to bring in most of the fish and he was hooked.  We stayed at Crooked Lake Resort and had a great time.  We will be back in January 2015.

I am a new member as well and really enjoy the board.  I am a third generation Lake Erie western basin ice fisherman and love the sport.  Thanks for all the great information.
