Ahh, it's the season to read and believe posts like" my buddy's dad's cousin has a friend who's neighbor has a airboat and is fishing."  I love it.

New Yorkers go out on their end for perch, so why couldn't you do it in  Bula??  Of course there is nothing to lock and hold the ice like the west end, but the ice moves there too even with the islands.  You would need an airboat I would imagine.  And more than likely be blazing your own trail.

I'm shooting for wensday or Thursday. I hope the north end is locked up by then. It's stupid cold out now but the wind is ripping. Could open or keep open some water.

Checked it last night 26th and it looked to be locked up. Very clear ice too. Had about an inch off the dock. Little snow cover. Next weekend!

I'll be on it tomorrow.  Todays weather isn't doing a thing to the ice.  Last weekend had 3 to 3.5 inches.  It only grew since then.

What does any of this have to do with Wingfoot??  No wonder nobody posts much on this site.  Its the same 5 guys that talk about catfish time after time.  I hope nobody comes here for a report because their gonna be disappointed.

Fished it last night. (sunday 17th)  Ice was 3 inches with thinner areas all over.  Got out to 9 ft and did ok at dusk.  This ice is different than the last.  Its clear, but filled with air bubbles.  I don't know if it will make it threw the heavy rain and wind thats forecasted for tonight along with the 40 deg. temps.    Some areas we walked over had 1.5 inches.  That was my last trip out.

Buddy told me the edges are toast in the campground bay.  He just checked the access off the road and not in the actual camp area.

there were a few guys on clr today around noon.  ice was so wet on top I thought it was open water.  I drilled and spudded around and had 4 inches. some areas the spud would go right in. didn't fish cause I just didn't feel comfortable on that soft ice.  hope those guys got off ok.

I had a "decent" fall bite, but started later than normal last year.  Didn't fish till the end of October.  By the end of November I had a good idea where the fish were I just couldn't get too many of them to bite.  I was on fish Sunday, but they were just off.  I didn't expect to whack em', I'm just sayin'.  Tough fishery sometimes.

Berlin Reservoir / Weekend at Berlin
« on: January 28, 2013, 03:14:52 PM »
I wasted 2 days of my ice fishing life trying to get some wallys sat and sun.  Saturday I started around 2 and fished until dark with 2 bumps.  Fished a underwater point from 14 to 30 ft.  Sunday I started at 6 am just off the roadbed in 14.  Stayed there till sunrise then moved back to the point and fished from 8 to 43 ft.  This time my buddy was with me and we moved moved and moved.  Found lots of lookers in 22 ft and off the break in 40 ft, but the few we caught were whitebass and channel cats.  Didn't matter what was used as almost all fish would come up 2 ft then turn away.  That lake is a pain in the a%&!!!  Seen kids on quads both days on 3.5 to 4 inches of ice.  At least I got out for what looks like the first and last at Berlin.
