Thats why i shop local, cabelas us nice all the trophy animals and live fish and stuff but i find them a little pricey, even the bargain cave sometimes isnt much of a bargain, ive been to wheeling cabelas and probably will visit the polaris one also.most of our local guys can get us better deals, will ship directly to us,and also support ifo and our events, not to many accurate local ice reports coming from cabelas!

My favorite place is Land Big Fish. They have everything for bass and crappie.

Now that there is a Cabelas in Ohio when you make a purchase online you will have to pay taxes. That was one of the few reasons I would even  buy anything from them. Most of there stuff is overpriced now add the taxes. I will have to keep going to Marks bait, tackle and ammo or A&C bait and tackle. Anything Cabelas has these shops can get. If they don't have it in stock they will order it for you. 9 times out of 10 they will work it out so they are cheaper then the big box shops.  I do like to go into the Cabelas and bass pros to see the big fish tanks and animal mounts. They are cool places to walk around. Every year when we drive to key west we stop at the World Wide Sportsman store in Islamorada. Its a lot smaller then a normal bass pro pro. They have Ernest Hemingway's boat inside the store that you can get on and check out. He is my favorite author and its cool to be able to get on the actual boat that he would take out fishing for marlin, sailfish and other sport fish. We always walk in to check things out but almost never buy anything. To many local shops to buy my saltwater gear at lower prices. If your looking for anything for saltwater check out Cudjoe Sales Fisherman's Warehouse. They have a online shop as well that you can check out.

I'll check that out, thanks!  I go to OBX for 2 weeks to shark fish every year.  I need some stuff for this year, I'll check them out.  Thanks!!

They are a bunch of great guys to deal with. They stock a lot more then what they have on their site. If your looking for something that you dont see just give them a call. I get all my Ande line and wire leader from them plus all my bait and what everelse I need from them. Im leaving Monday for 3 weeks of shark fishing in Key West. We normally go for 1-2 months each year but had to make the trip shorter this year. Im getting all my Penns oiled, lubed and respooled right now so there ready to go. Im hoping to get one bigger then the 8 1/2 ft. lemon shark that hangs on my wall this year. I dont think my wife will let me get another full mount until I get her a bigger house. Ill just have to settle for a 1/4 or 1/2 mount I guess.  ;D Here is a link to their site. if your in the area I highly recommend stopping in.

Well said hwj, these local shop owners and IFO sponsors either stock the things we need or will get them for us,the pricing is very competitive and you can't best the friendly service,oh and did I mention they support IFO and our local tournament, hard and open water, and also one day last summer my buddies boat broke down and berlin was a ghost town, one of those local guys towed us to the dock.......free!don't think channels would have done that
