Post by: icebucketjohn on December 09, 2013, 01:45:08 PM
In a nutshell: Ice formation deteriorated from yesterday (12/8)
Palm/Saxe Rd (East End): Locked up, but with only 1" of ice. Shoreline is weak.
Congress Lake Rd (CLR): Middle & Center areas have opened up. Ice less than 1" thick
St Rt 43 (Boathouse & Boatlaunch): Opened up with ice in Bays only

I saw same at other lakes. This wind is eroding the ice that was formed before.

Not really congress always freezes second. But with the water low if you go through you will hit bottom.....now that may be 3 feet of muck in maybe 4 feet of water. But still over your head.

Forget Palm Rd. I was there this morning (Weds) and drilled over 30 holes... Nothing deeper than 2 ft.
Hit CLR, West side (north shore) all day. Caught mostly dinks, but it sure felt good to be icing some gills.
East side of Congress Lake Rd was wide open... no change since Monday!
