Title: Indian Lake ice report 12 11 2013 3 inches

I know you're all getting pretty anxious. Here's the latest from Long Island at Indian Lake.

The first pull off I broke through on my third head ice with approximately 2 inches thick but very consistent. That being said the first pull off is currently not fishable.
The second pull off I started three spots the ice withheld six hits and was 3 inches in thickness clear black ice with only a light dusting of snow.
at the second pull off you will see where I have spudded and also drilled a pair of holes. This ice was pretty consistent nice and clear but I would use extreme caution. This area will be accessible if the temperatures stay low.
As always, be careful and make sure not to fish alone these first few days. I would not recommend fishing at this time however I was able to go on to the ice sheet with no difficulty.

I was going to try there tomorrow. Did pretty well at Grand Lake this morning on gills but I was hoping for crappies. First time ice fishing for 12 years and I really missed it. Crappies ran real big at Grand Lake this spring.

Thank you for the update. I was thinking about driving up there in the morning but I can wait for better conditions. I live by CJ Brown so I will hit the docks there. I haven't had much luck CJ but you just never know.

I fished the first pull off today and the ice was 3.5" near shore and 4" of clear ice out in the middle. I caught 35-40 gills and 2 lm biggest bass was 1.5# and the gills were running 6"-8.5". It was the best day I've had there, fished 10am to 4pm.

Nice! Thanks for the update. I'm going to try to get there tomorrow and Tuesday. I can't wait to hit the ice

My Father and I was up at long island last night was good, a little slushy still. but was 3+inch in spots..we caught some Bluegills and 1 good sized Crappie about 11 1/2" inch was a good eve.had a blast will go back this evening..

Taking off work Thursday and going to try and hit Indian. ANy word on where the ice and fishing is good. Probably going to hit Long Island. HAven't heard if ice is good at Black Hawk.

Fished 2nd pull off at Long Island today hit the first pull off caught 2 dink gills then headed to 2nd pull off caught Abunch of small gills and couple small crappie. Ice was good 5 inches where I was.
