Title: Camping and ice fishing
Post by: Green Pea on December 18, 2013, 06:42:20 PM
Guys I don't know that lake at all. I have some time off work through the Holidays and I'm thinking about pitching my tent at the campgrounds and ice fishing near my tent provided the ice is good.

Is that area by the campground decent or would I be better off figuring out where the pull off is I hear mentioned here?

You are a better man than I am Green Pea, for tent camping in the winter.  Looks like the temps will be tolerable but not too conducive to ice fishing.

Best of luck if you do go.  I am sure Dan will show you some areas to fish.  I tried fishing through the ice at the campgrounds once and once in open water and got skunked.

It looks like the ice will be a no go so I will hold off until the next batch forms and is safe. I'm deffinately looking forward to getting up there and fishing.

I'm heading to Alum Creek this weekend for the dock tournament.
