Title: Morning 1-20-14
Post by: jmm114 on January 20, 2014, 04:18:51 PM
Made it out about 8am onto the ice east of Congress Lake, there were around 8 shanties set up. Walking out we heard some groaning in the ice, but it seemed to be around 6" of clear. It was more like 4"-5" of clear where we ended up popping holes 50 yards offshore. Between a buddy and me we managed about 25 fish, including 8 or 9 keeper gills. My buddy caught 3 largemouth, biggest being 11 inches. We moved once and then left around 11:30, it was a pretty decent morning by my standards so far!

No problem, the West side was open water for maybe 75 yards out from the bridge. The swans were diving for food there when we left.
