Title: Catawba Post rain conditions for Sunday
Post by: DrData on February 01, 2014, 02:25:50 PM
Heading up tomorrow and expect it to be wet but hoping we get a freeze over night.  Not sure if it is worth a 2 plus hour drive. Throw in your thoughts

I understand, sometimes its hard to tell by the radar if it is raining and inch an hour or just enough to smooth it out.  Thanks

Today the slouch was pretty bad.  Plenty of good ice under it, but walking was tough.  We walked two miles north out of Catawba State Park and got skunked.  Two wheel drive four wheelers really could not get out due to the slush.  Even some 4 wheel drives were struggling. should be OK tomorrow and better Tuesday

Thank you sdkohio. I'm walking out in the morning, I was waiting for a report, as soon as I saw the driveway this morning I knew it was going to be tough. If we didn't get that snow we would be dragging in style, but nope. Might be able to stay on top in the morning if these temps drop soon. Anyone walking in the morning?

It was even better in tone afternoon than in tone morning.  The reports I got said that Crane Creek ended up hotter than North of Catawba.  The problem is from Catawba SP it is a long walk to Crane.

Why not just go to Crane ??  Would never even think about heading out of Catawba to fish Crane even with a machine .
