Ice is thin with some open water around the edges of the lifeguard area, but still quite thick - over a foot - elsewhere. You just have to be careful where you get onto the ice. By next weekend it should not be an issue.
not even a nibble fishing today! Oh well. I had a good time with my Dad.
Also, I lost 1 of my yaktrax ice walkers. If you are at Wallace any time please keep an eye out and pick it up for me if you see it. (stephenfwhite@hotmail.com) I walked from the main parking lot, out to the guard chair, then north past the concession stand building to the spot I went onto the ice by the wooden platform closest to the concessions. I think I would have spotted it if it popped off my boot on the ice.
