Headed up to Nimi for a bit this morning just to check things out. Thought almost the whole lake would be open, but only about 40% of it is. The north and west shores are open, the bay by Falcon where I was Tuesday is mostly open water and only fishable by boat or shore casting. C-5 is totally unfishable and rotted. But in the bay where the C-4 launch ramp on Christman Road is, the ice is still fishable believe it or not. You need to plank on by the little wooden dock, but it was a good solid 6" in the middle. With the temps coming up, I think it's possible to be able to fish that area on ice until next Thursday possibly. This season is unbelievable, it just keeps on giving. Thanks old man winter!!!!! The colors today were black and chart/green tipped with a lone waxie. I was using size 12 tungsten jigs. Those 2 colors were the best. Fish were in 6' of water 1-3' under the ice. The bite was on fire during the snowstorm! From what I was hearing from everyone, I'm glad I wasn't on the roads! I think ice out will be amazing for the panfishing! Here are some pics from the day. If anyone is as psycho as I am and goes out BE CAREFUL!! The snow covered up the thin areas and old holes. It's like a mine field out there and slicker than snot. Almost fell twice. Plank on and spud your way out. You can see my holes probably, and don't go alone!!

Yep! ;D North ramp on Christman was open water this morning. All the north and west sides of the lake are open.

Hey snowcone hurry up and put your boat in and you can pick slab up as the last ice cube on nimi melts away,just make sure theres room for his gear and that paper with the panfish tournament results on it!! ;D ;D

You guys are to funny!!! ;D My wife asked me why I was laughing so hard! And I almost choked on my coffee. But it's true, if my ice patch holds up I'll be there a couple more times. ;D After 2 straight years of no ice, I can't get enough!
And on a side note those results will be posted today. They finally made it in from the truck to the office last night.

Yes it is! Sorry I missed your post I was laughing so hard. Bite was awesome there yesterday. Might try to make it up there again tomorrow afternoon if everything works out. I think it'll be fishable for a few more days.
