With the snow that's being forecast for NE Ohio, this could be great timing. The snow combined with the cold will really take the remaining warmth out of the surface water. That combined with the forecast temps this week, it's possible we might be able to get on a lake or pond by the weekend!  Sunday doesn't look great, but we might get Friday and Saturday!

hahah  that's funny sh t  there , I was gonna ask if he bumped his head  ;D    but humor aside its in the future buddy I have seen a lot of ice on shallow water, hey I fell in a big puddle up steelie fishin yesterday because it was so clear my brain didn't connect FROZEN WATER  :o :o

Clear is good!   Glad you didn't get hurt!  Maybe it is the 3 concussions I've had in the last 14 months and I'm dreaming/hallucinating, but if we have between 2 and 2 1/2" of clear ice I'll be on Nimi!  But only fishing water shallower than 5 feet for safety! ;D  Don't want to drown if I go thru!

Yep, locked up from RT14 all the way to the back of my house, that's 1 1/2 miles and it looks thick. Hard to believe with all this wind there would be that much ice. Drove by my favorite pit just down the road yesterday and still wide open. We have a great start to the ice season, let's hope it continues after this little warm up we'll have this weekend. The baitshop is stocked more than ever with ice gear and I have alot more on the way. Added quite a few new items this year. Should be fully stocked by Thanksgiving.............Mark
