That is to a long lasting marriage , after pulling all my gear together and giving it the once over before I load it up for some ice fishing. Guess who walks in with a calculator. cabelas magazine and her cell linked up to the fishing price guide.......THE WIFE. She started asking how much the vex cost, the power auger, the shanty , the 10 ice poles, cold weather suit, all the tackle , I was screwed from head to toe, I couldn't lie my way out of that mess for crap. SO what do you do, dinner out didn't work, cleaned the house aint helping, 10 toes up/ ten toes down flopped , money, she has her own.......So I invited her to a day on the ice, best suggestion I could think of and it worked, zero degrees out , 10 mph wind and she had no cold weather gear , she loved the shanty , heater and all the other accommadations we had .....now the ability to leave home without her the next time might be tough

I just buy the little stuff but on the bigger items I show her what I want, tell her I found a good deal on it, and give her the sad puppy dog eyes. She rolls her eyes and tells me to buy it ;Dworks every time. Lol. But I've only been married a year and a half so we'll see if it lasts

Looks like you will need to buy your wife a cold weather suit of her own dawg. My wife told me she needs to go ice fishing with me once but I don't think that will happen. I would like to get her out once but won't hold my breath.

Mine is disappointed when I go without her. She now has her own sterns suit and heated cabellas gloves. I had to buy the big budy heater for her to be warm. Still need to upgrade some stuff. But she loves erie and likes caching panfish. Ohhhh had to get a second vexlar also lol. And transportation for erie

Just showed my wife the picture and asked if she would be like your wife and go to Erie with me. She firmly told me she won't go to Erie with me and said if she goes anywhere with me it would be Indian. I told her I would take her to a farm pond where she can catch a lot of nice gills and is close to the truck. I guess I could take the shanty and heater so she can stay warm. Seriously doubt if it will happen.

Worst mistake I ever did was having a GF that could fish and then taking her! Now it's less man time and more time of me getting out-fished. Mostly all women possess the power. She caught this in the boat night fishing a couple weeks ago!

icedog, sounds like you have a idea, if she likes it that means you can go more. still working on getting my wife there at indian with me, i figured get kids going and liking it, she will follow, i think. ;)

Yep, Ohiofisher, I know what you mean. My wife doesn't go with me often, but when she does it's usually 4-to-1 her over me. And they'ew big ones too. Only time she went on the ice with me, she was pulling in bass like crazy and I got 1 dink all day!
