Title: Good Fishin'
Post by: Mullygyn on February 15, 2016, 10:34:13 PM
Started at long island by the bridge about 8am. Worked my way around into the main lake and back to the far side of pony island and all the way down the back side of pony in the channel out to the north end of long island. Made my way around the pads in the large flat between the bridge and pony. 2 marks for 5 hours of fishing....
Switched tactics- went south of northfork and got into non stop action the rest of the day. Caught saugeyes from about 1pm till 7 in 6fow. Fishing was spectacular all afternoon. Came home with a nice limit. Pink vmc spoon, pink and gold flake clam spoon, all with full minnow hooked in the dorsal and jig just like any other spoon. Also caught a few with spoons and waxies. Couple on small gold vibe. My worst day fishing ever turned out to be my best day ever at Indian.
Ice was between 3-4.5 everywhere I went.

We were canceled from school today, so got on the Saugeyes from daylight to dark, caught between 20-25, brought home 5 good ones! Had a few nice white bass mixed in!

Between the 4 guys we caught around 75 saugeyes, many , 70%, 14-15".

But we had 19 keepers between, 16-20"

Gold pimple tipped with spikes and un -tipped were best. Snakie Rattler spoon was second best.

Black ice, Swedish pimple has 3rd  best. 5-6 ft of water, North Fork. Fish bit all day.
