Title: Anyone fishing tomorrow, use caution!

If anyone tries it one last time tomorrow, please be careful! I can't believe how much snow and ice had melted in the last 4 hours even after the sun has gone down. The ice may not be as good as I originally thought tomorrow morning. Please use caution and check and spud your way out if you go.

Due to the lower latent heat required to melt ice (80 cal / gram) than to freeze water (537 cal / gram) you will see ice melt a lot quick than water freezes. In real terms if it took 6 days to freeze the water, it could take as little as a day to melt it depending on temperature differentials. We saw this at Buckeye Lake a few weeks back. Days to freeze the water and then a single day at 50F to melt it - scary stuff.
