Title: Ready to go!
Post by: slabslayer on December 15, 2016, 10:53:39 AM
Loaded the truck this morning! Hoping for tomorrow. Looks like work is cooperating. ;D Here's all the gear I take at first ice, and for those that have fished with me or know me, you know just how light I'm traveling compared to normal!! Mini sled with hand auger and spudbar. Float suit, safety items, a few lures, few rods, and my Vex. All fits in the mini sled on my trucks back seat. Super light and simple for first ice! Just sucks in the high wind, no shanty to flip up. Have to put your back into the wind.

I go light on early ice too. My sled is a 2ft by 3ft mixing tray from Lowes that runs around $13.00. It holds 2 5 gal buckets, a buddy heater and my tackle bag. A bungee holds my auger and spud bar in place. Can't wait to ise it again.
