Title: last day of the season????
Post by: wapak ice dawg on January 10, 2017, 09:34:42 PM
Not for sure if this was the beginning of the end for our ice season, not looking too good for quite some time, but I did have a banner "last day" .... hope I'm wrong!

Nice catch dawg! I hope we get more cold weather, but the forecast does not look too good. Another busted season for me, at least I did get out twice and was only skunked once.

Ha snowcone, I'm probably one of the few who has a phone with no camera on it, so I had to wait until I got home to take a picture.

I've actually fished Indian for saugeye the last four days. Got a couple Sunday, killed em Monday, pulled a limit last night, and had 5 keepers and a nice crappie today. That being said, I was probably pushing the limits of good sense by this afternoon trying to get one more . The ice went from decent to garbage in about 4 hours today. I am absolutely DONE unless we get a new freeze. I was about 50% percent sure I was gonna go through on the way in. Ice was cracking as I walked on it. It was still 4 inches but weakening fast. But if that was it for the ice this year I can end it happy. Made it out prob 10 times. Never got skunked and pulled several limits of saugeye. But I'm still hoping for a very cold Feb. If not the boat is sitting in the driveway waiting for me ;D

Great job Aaron. Wish I could do more than just weekends, the drawback of working 3rd.

Lol. Well to be truthful I shouldn't be fishing during the week either. My boss was under the impression I had the flu.

I hate coming down wit the saugeye flu. It gets hard to get rid of it, seems to just hang on in winter. I am like you wapak, my phone doesn't have a camera on it either. I still have to buy minutes for my cell phone.
