I hope I didn't jinx the season by proactively making my new smitty sled.
Build away…I bought another shanty about a month ago. If anything would have wrecked the season it would have been that :)

All good!! I bought a bunch of new spoons. 5-10 days away from walking on water I think. Sooner if not for the weekend warmup.

I turned on my aerator in my small pond to add oxygen, and well it opened up a large area of open water! I wasn't catching much anyway this year. It's off now and I will wait until it re-freezes. So I went and fished a lake in West Mansfield instead. Caught several dink gills right away, then I caught a 14 1/2 inch largemouth on my ultralight rod, inline reel and 4 lb line. He took out drag several times! Very small jig with a waxie. I will be going back Thursday!

I had a great day fishing my pond today. The chew was on from the first drop with a very small pink and yellow tungsten jig and waxworm. About 10 gills, 1 nice yellow perch, and 1 nice crappie. Used my favorite setup: Clam ulta-light team ice rod with built in spring bobber, Eagle Claw inline reel, and 4lb Suffix ice mono.
