Post by: g on March 06, 2010, 10:49:37 PM
fished dunns last night & tonight. skunked last night but saw 4 saugeyes & 1 white bass caught. the heron enjoyed the whitey. 1 saugeye weighed 4.75 lbs. tonight, caught 1 perch & 1 saugeye.know of 5 other saugeyes caught - no big ones, just good eaters. I heard the heron snatched another saugeye off the ice again tonight ( won't eat the shad ). saw a picture at Genes of a 28 in pike caught in the spillway today on a bass minnow.

There Pike are concentarted in the river, not too many ever caught in the main lake. A gentleman caught one in November from the main lake. I have heard about pike being caught near the lake, but not right below the spillway. I have fished for them several miles south of the lake and seen what I considered to be total monsters patrolling the shallows. Great to hear about a couple of pike being caught! The lake has some musky too, but I know they don't have great success with reproduction in the wild.
