Title: Vib-E
Post by: HardWater Junkie on November 15, 2010, 08:50:02 PM
I haven't done a lot of fishing with Vib-E's but I see that a lot of people here use them a lot. I was wondering what size's and colors you recommend.

I like anything 3/8 and under. My favorite colors are Gold with Orange(Fire), Chartruce and Fire, and Silver or White with Blue.

They also have a perch pattern that is really nice.

We use 1/8 and 3/8 at Indian because it is shallow. I use the 1/4 to 1/2 at Alum. Can't go wrong with the standard silver blue, silver, gold, bronze, and any orange pattern.

You want to use a clip and not a barrel swivel with a clip. I will put a small barrel swivel about 16 inches up to reduce spinning of the lure. If it is to close to the lure you will lose vibration.

Jerk hard and let fall into the bottom. They usually have it on the fall. Sometimes i will stop it before it hits the bottom and pause before the next jerk. There are guys at indian who use 2 rods at one time and do real well. It takes practice.

Good Luck

I make most of my own jigs and weights so I figured why not lures. You can buy a mold and the blades for a lot cheaper then buying the finished product. The mold makes Vib-e's from 1/4 to 3/4. I didn't want to buy it if the common size was smaller then that. I like the idea of making my own lures then I can custom paint each one however I want them. I want to do a lot more walleye and saugeye fishing this winter so I think I will buy the mold

I use the 3/16 oz most of the time. blue & silver, orange & gold, general lee (solid orange), firetiger, & red are all good colors. Blue & silver is usually my best producer. Can't wait to do it again!
