Title: Added a new fish to my resume
Post by: davek on December 15, 2010, 08:57:16 AM
I caught a fish yesterday that my buddy and I at first thought was a oddly marked rock bass. due to the cold 5 degrees I threw it back right away with no pics. The fish hit hard and had a lot of fight, it was smaller than the palm of my hand caught it on a lil cecil tipped with a waxie in 9 foot of water. If the boys had been with me they would have got their chart out to figure out what it was but not me I just played stupid until it got to eating at me last night so i got the chart out and went to the internet and figured out it was a Warmouth a member of the gill family with a large mouth. Goes to show there is always something for us to learn. Wish I had a pic for everyone if you google warmouth you can see one Dave

I've caught quite a few of those in farm ponds. They're a really pretty looking fish, and excellent fighters! They don't taste too bad either.
