Anyone ever fish with leeches threw the ice?

Actually, yes. They are great for bass. Crappie will hit on them too, and so will bull gills. Used them in open water for walleye, and they worked, but never tried it thru the ice. Only problem is I have a devil of a time finding leeches in the winter. You know of a place to get them?

Cheshire has them.

If you can get them to within a few inches of the bottom, they'll stretch way out trying to get into the mud.

CRV never tried them in winter because they just are not available, but I love to use them in summer. When you get up into the northwoods they are sold by pints and quarts and are more popul;ar than minnows. Dave
