Post by: Showdown on January 24, 2011, 09:00:31 PM
Went out today trying to catch steelhead near cleveland at a marina ...managed to catch 4 steelhead and noticed the water was really clear and saw a bunch of small fish that ended up being smelt. Ended up with 60 of em!

my question also frozen water or open up by warm water discharge at power plant ? i would bail on going to an inland lake this weekend to catch steelies....i used to go to geneva and ice fish for steelies it was great if conditions were right u could watch the fish moving under you and even take your bait...the only draw back about going there the sand would mix with the freezing water and you only drilled a few holes and your auger blades were spent...i dont really want to put on the waders, sitting in my heated shanty just sounds better right now...

yes it was through the ice in about 6 or 7 foot of water. Wildwood park right around the docks look for the holes... ;)
