Bummer dude. I think I may head to another lake on Monday since wind is supposed to be out of the NE on Sunday. I was hoping the eyes may be turning on. How much ice was there at NF?

Eye bite is on, just look for them, keep drilling holes. Pimples and 5 to 6 feet of water seem to be the best.

I was out this AM and they are on fire in blackhawk. I used bass minnows and a jig purple jig head.

I doubt fish are on fire at Blackhawk, friends of mine fish this area daily.
I have not heard many good reports. Blackhawk is only seeing a handful of fisherman per night. Not the 20 plus fisherman like last winter. This sounds a little bit fishy to me?
My husband and I have taken 10 keepers this week. Not that good considering we fished 3 days.
Many small throw backs, should be great next year!

No fish story! just stay in the newly dredged areas. use tip ups to locate the hot hole and then jig in that hole. also heard that off of wolf island a few limits were caught (via bait shop) but I didn't see a good place to access? now Dunns on the other hand is a dead sea!

Fished Monday 1/31 and Tue 2/1 at NF. Nothing but white bass in the AM on Monday. Moved around and started getting more crappie and perch bites by early PM. That aftetnoon, right as the weather started to come in and the winds changed direction, I got a few eys to bite. One keeper and 2 toss backs. On Tue. morning I caught 6 eyes but not one single keeper. Kept 4 perch and 4 crappie though. Got wet and nasty in the early PM with freezing rain so enough is enough and I'm gone. It seems to me that the fishing is back to a more predictable pattern, but the dink ratio is still extremely high. Every eye I caught was on #3 or #4 pimples tiped with a minnow head. Pink or red prism colors seemed to be the ticket as the storm tracked thru.

Fished sat the 5th all day at long island and NF with 3 friends one of of which was a 12 yr old 1st timer which was cool. Lots and lots of gills and some decent crappie peppered in as well, but only 2 eyes 1 of which was a keeper. Must have got 3-4 inches of snow while we fished and was pretty sore from dragging my sled around in it while also fighting the 4-5 inches of ice covered snow/slush below the new snow. A good time was had by all and the newbie nailed some too so that made it even better. Eyes caught on 1/4 oz vibes.

Hardwater, were there any size on the gills? We fished Delaware Saturday and we caught around 80 fish but only one keeper.

We caught some very nice gills. My buddy kept around 25-30 of the biggest. forgot to mention we caught alot of whitebass as well but no real size to them. Shoot me a PM if you go back and I'll let you know exactly where we were.
