Title: Late Ice
Post by: Banker on February 10, 2011, 10:33:47 AM
Let's start some discussion around the late ice season. We are good about covering first ice, and middle ice. There are new members and new ice fisherman that should know the good and bad that comes with late ice. It is the most dangerous part of our season and now seems like a good time to cover the basics. Look for soft edges next week, honeycombed ice, and with that some really comfortable and fish producing conditions as well. It's litterally like walking on a tight rope this time of year- balancing great fishing with your life essentially.

i feel safer on 4" in december than a foot in march. we should be good this weekend, but next week, be careful. stay away from rocks, logs, etc. they draw heat from the sun, and weaken the ice.
