Title: Key West Fishing Report
Post by: HardWater Junkie on March 19, 2011, 11:17:47 PM
I been here 2 days now on my 1 month stay. The first night I hooked into a shark that ripped my rod out of the holder and into the water. I was hartbroken as it is my favorite saltwater setup. I was fishing off of our seawall so I figured I would go snorkeling for it today to see if i could find it. I didnt think i would find it but then i came face to face with a 4 foot shark belly up on the bottom. I gaffed it and drug it to shore not sure if it was my shark or if it was even hooked up still. My grandfather pulled it up and I got out of the water. Much to amazment the damn thing was still alive just not doing too good. It was still hooked up and I was able to get my rod and reel back. Now I know most of you will call B.S. on this story, so for you my wife got pics. I will post them when I get a better internet connection as we are bootlegging from some one else. The shark was a 4 ft. lemon shark and tonight I caught a 5 1/2 ft and 4 1/2 ft lemon shark. They are nothing like the 8 1/2 footer that hangs on my living room wall but they sure are fun to catch. Its kinda wierd going from freezing temps and 2 lb. test to 80 degrees and 50 lb test. Its hard to believe but I would almost rather be sitting on my bucket back home on the ice. (Note that I said ALMOST rather be). I have several pics I will post later and will keep updating when I can so stay tuned for more reports.

Great story Tim some of my favorite fishing memories are from the outer banks of NC with my brother, he is a master at it and I wish the treehuggers hadn't taken over and shut down some of the best fishing this country has to offer. keep up the good work. Dave
