Title: Who is getting the itch?
Post by: davidhoheisel on September 22, 2011, 12:01:02 PM
I was wondering who is getting the itch.

It is time to break out the gear. Check your batteries, rods, reels, guides, auger blades, heater and shanties.

Nothing is worst is to find out you need something the day you want to go out.

Look in your jig box and see what needs to be replaced. I had one box that had mosture in it and all my hooks were rusted.

I started last week fishing off of my my solo-boat with my vex and Jason Mitchell rod and hit some crappies and a cat.

I will post a video shortly.

I am getting the itch big time!  As of 5am tomorrow the 23rd of September it's Fall.  I believe by the end of fall we will have ice.  I saw a report on the weather channel that they are forcasting colder temps this winter which hopefully means safe ice faster than last season.

I haven't spent nearly as much time on the water as I would have wanted this soft water season as I got married this Spring and getting into that new lifestyle is different for sure.  I didn't even get my boat out of the garage, which is sad for sure.

Tight lines and keep praying for early ice!

Md, Congrats on getting married. Hopefully, you will be able to get out this winter.

Maybe, she would like ice fishing and you could get out everyday? I know wishful thinking.

Any way's, congrats and see you on the ice soon.

David, I got her on the ice last winter once up near Howard rd for crappie but we didn't catch a fish before the kids started grumbling about being cold and not having fun.  She actually liked it.  I suppose if I got another shanty, one for the kids and one for us, we could do family outings on the ice.

Anyhow, I am so ready for the season to be here.

I am glad she liked it.

That is going to be my main goal is to get my boy's and wife into it this winter.

Maybe we can have a family day and we can bring food and the kids could play in the snow together when they get board.

I am sure CRV and Firefish would be into this.
