Title: Fishing spots near Toledo?
Post by: jmsteele187 on December 08, 2011, 12:22:25 AM
Where are some good fishing spots around the Toledo area? I know lake Erie has plenty of good walleyes to be iced. But I'm usually going out on my own, and feel it could be very risky to head out on the big lake. I'm looking for a good spot for panfish.

the marinas around the lake should offer decent panfish. you will know the good ones by the amount of people there.

You have millions of small gills at olander in sylvannia. I would go to the Irish hills of michigan or hit any of the marina like g said.

I plan to hit up devils lake and maybe grass lake in the Irish hills area this winter. But, I was really looking for a few spots closer to home. I'm not sure how to get to any of the marinas around here, but I'm sure they can't be to hard to find. I might try the delta res, but even that is a little further than I want to drive most weekends. I'll look into some of the marinas though. I did hear that lake olander also has some big pike. At least that's what the person at the boat rental said. Can anyone confirm this?

They do have a couple pike. Probably worse than looking a for a needle in a haystack there because that place is so big and deep. There may be a few trout around there too I bet left over from the stocking and you still have a few perch, cats, bass
