Title: Season's almost here!
Post by: slabslayer on December 12, 2011, 03:39:19 PM
Some of the smaller (3 acre and under) ponds I start my ice season with are totally frozen over. Can't stand on them yet, but once we get thru Thursday, looks like the cold's going to settle in. Daytime temps in the 30's won't hurt us at all because at night it's going down to low to mid 20's. For us up in the northern half of the state, looks like maybe we'll be fishing smaller bodies of water in less than 2 weeks!! ;D ;D

Is there going to be a kid's day this year. Was all excited and had the boys signed up last year, and then it warmed up!

I can't wait for some safe ice. I'm not too sure where I can fish smaller lakes and ponds. But I have a couple of trips out to the Irish hills planned. I've been prospecting for some spots closer to home, but it seems like many of the lakes and ponds are filled with nothn' but dinks.

Yes, there's a kid's day in the works. Just not sure of the date yet. The ice keeps teasing us. There was about an inch and a half on the one pond I fish, but it's almost gone now. :'( I'd settle for some dinks now, just want to get on some ice. :P
