Not sure. You can call the number on the letter about the jawjacker and ask. I've used tip-downs like tip-ups before and the game warden didn't have a problem with it, but it was one man on one day. Never know about a different officer on another day, best to have in writing.

I don't think so. A tip-down is a totally different fishing system where your rod literally tips down when you get a bite. There's a website, tipdown.com, that has pics and products for sale. I'm pretty sure they're put in the same catagory as Jawjackers and riggers by the ODNR.

Agreed. They're an "unattended fishing device" same as tip-ups, riggers, and JawJackers. I don't see why the ODNR would treat them any differently. I'd think you could use up to 6 and still be legal. I had 3 out before and was jigging by hand and didn't get a fine or even a warning. There was no problems at all. ;D

There's contact info on the link at the top of the general discussion board. It's in the link marked sticky about letter from ODNR says JawJackers a tip-up. There's an email and a phone number in that link on the first post by Dave H.
