Title: Two ice fisherman die in NY
Post by: Minnowhead on January 08, 2012, 04:55:14 PM
WINDSOR, N.Y. -- An accident while ice fishing kills one person and injures another.

It happened on White Birch Lake in the town of Windsor a little after 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies say two Binghamton residents were fishing when the ice broke and they fell into the water.

Emergency responders were able to pull both people out of the water. Both were taken to Wilson Hospital.

One victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the other is listed in critical condition.

Authorities have not yet released the victims' names.

Both men died as of today.  Not worth it guys.  Not even for a contest or bragging rights.  Safe ice will come, just give it time.

Point well taken.  No need to be careless.  We all need to wait for SAFE ice and not try to push our luck.  I understand what you mean!  :)

Me too.  It's a good slogan as well as a good reminder for us of what's really important in life.
