Title: venison shepard pie
Post by: chippewa on January 19, 2012, 09:53:42 PM
I am not one to go by a standard recipe... so here is one that made up tonight from several recipes that turned out awesome... 2# ground venison 3carrots coursly chopped 1 stalk celery coursly chopped 5 cloves garlic fine chopped 6 med potatoes 1 beef grayy mix 2 pkgs all purpose biscuit mix (7 oz each) 1c shredded cheddar cheese 8 T butter 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 can peas 1/2 cup milk 1T salt 1T fresh ground pepper
Ok the first step is to brown the meat and set aside in seprate dish at this point you should have the taters pealed and cut and started to boil to make the mashed taters then add 4T butter to the same pan as the venison was in and add the carrots, celery, and onions and saute over low heat for about 10 min or until carrots are semi tender then add garlic and saute another couple minutes.
