Title: Safe ice anywhere?
Post by: jmsteele187 on January 25, 2012, 11:09:50 PM
Does anyone know of any safe ice on smaller inland ponds? I took this Friday and Saturday off of work so I could help out with a benefit for my mom, and it looks like I will have Friday all to myself. It looks like it might be warmer the next two day, so it might be kind of iffy.

You'll have to go north. Went by Portage Lakes yesterday, and they were partially open water, and the ice that was left on them was milky and rotted. Stopped at Springfield Lake and spud went thru with one weak hit. Going to be a while before any ice is ready around here, especially with next weeks forecast. :-\ We get 2 days of cold and 5 days of 40's. I'm sick of this! >:(
