Title: Electronics
Post by: Minnowhead on May 18, 2012, 06:21:30 AM
I was a t BassPro in Toledo the other day and was looking at the fish finders. The new technology was amazing. Fish finders have come along way. It looks like the $2000 units that show a clear picture of trees and rocks on the screen are the latest thing. I wonder if that will ever be incorporated into a unit for icefishing? Not just a Vexilar flasher type or underwater camera but an actual image even in stained cloudy water?

You can get a kit for your side imaging unit. I th ought about it, but last year there was no ice, so I couldn't justify the$700+ for the upgrade kit.

I know some of the pros use there side imaging electronics on the ice for finding the structure around them. Im scared to loose my 500.00 lx5 thru the ice, I couldnt imagine what it would be like to loose 2000.00+ if you go thru. I think i would shoot myself before i got home instead of giving my wife the pleasure of killing me when she found out. lol
