Facing the Giants ,a movie about faith and football, helped me derive some new guidelines for fishing after some self analysis. Here is my new fishing philosophy..
1: With God all things are possible Matthew 19:26 Talent aside, God can control anything he wants including if and how many fish you catch. What I do now is pray for God to provide me with fish and to praise and honor Him when he does.
2: Honor God 1 Corinthians 10:31 What does that look like on the ice: Pictures of fish are great as they show people what God has created. Or you can take pictures of poop under a bucket...jk..more like friends enjoying fellowship on ice, and the nature that surrounds us. Be sure to post your pictures on this website so everyone can share in glorifying God!
3: Do not be afraid of failure.. "’Do not fear’ is mentioned in the bible 365 times." Mark Richt in Facing the Giants I have always been hesitant to sign up for fishing tournaments because I might not win and be exposed as a bad fisherman..looking at Rule 1 again, having faith in God means stepping out of your comfort zone, giving it your best effort and seeing what God is able to do with that effort to help you be His light to the world.
I am going to try to implement these guidelines in this upcoming season and invite you to do the same. As a servant to God, I hope to continue to share my best practices with you so you can have success honoring God as well and catching a whole bunch of fish for His Glory!

Without getting too deep into it, I've always felt I was out in a very special church when I was fishing, and always will!! ;)

Banker,
Sharing the word of god is a great thing and I am all for it since I am a Christian.
However, this site is open to all faiths and beliefs. So I ask that you not post things about pictures glorifying oneself or interpretations that could make someone feel uncomfortable about posting photos.
This site is to share the sport of ice fishing and photo's of fish is part of this site.
I hope you understand and I am not here to debate if it is right or wrong.
