Anyone else getting that uneasy feeling that it's December 3 and the temps are trending last year? :-\

We might not be on by the end of December but we only need a good week of cold weather and we will be on the ice.

Two years ago I was in my bass boat flippin for bass on Dec 3rd in a t-shirt and 65 degrees. Two and a half weeks later I was pulling slabs thru an ice hole. The ice will come and it will be o-so-sweet when it does. BTW I got a limit of bass that day fishing in less than 3 feet of water! ;D

Hey Jim, It has been 10 days since your prediction of North pole winds. looks like you predicted wrong! What's next?? You predict the browns win out and make the playoffs! Come on guys, we are not even in winter yet offically. All this back and forth is nothing but banter and needless worrying!! All we can do is wait and hope. In the meantime, there is open water walleye. BTW we have been killing them everytime out since a week after Sandy blew in! Eyes are in the normal wintering spots and can be had now!!

Right, my dad caught 3 bass last weekend. I had the Ranger charged and ready to go along with the day off work tomorrow. Planned on busting some bass of my own. Not happening now, got some cold of flu and am miserable. Left work 10 a.m. Wednesday and still don't feel much better. >:( Hope either I can get out one day next week or we get ice fast so I can try my new lures and new Jason Mitchell rods!! ; Really want to put that new Snap Rap to the test.

looking back over the more than 30 years i've been fishing through a hole, here's my thoughts. last year was the only year i can remember no ice at all. 2010 was an exceptional year with early ice and a long season. 2005 was a notorious season, as i remember. the earliest ice i've ever seen. was fishing the 2nd week of december. 6 inches of ice that was gone by Christmas. 2000 was another exceptional season, (started our 3 day weekends at work). ;D didn't start fishing till 1st. week in january, but fished into march.
