Title: Ice
Post by: firefish532 on January 29, 2013, 10:22:05 AM
Ice was a good 4 inches at all places I went to but had 1/2 water on top so my best gues is it won't hold up to long be safe and check it and by the way wear your spikes out there

hopefully you didn't get much more rain. the main concern i have is the wind pushing the water on the ice and eroding it. hopefully the cold will settle in quick enough and freeze the standing water. hope it will be fishable again sat.

Very curious about ice if there is any left this morning deep freeze could get us through this weekend next weeks warm temps during the dip below freezing at night won't help build ice any but may keep whatever is built this weekend there. All depends on if ice is left on the lake after yesterday.

Please report and thank you for the reports.

I rode up that way today  and wasn't impressed. I cut a hole off a dock out by the end at blackhawk it was only about a  inch thick. Drove  by long island and there wasn't any sign of anyone out there. It didn't look good enough for a fat guy like me.Any going use a spudbar.

Drove past Long Island and five parked at first pull off, fishing far side of bay. The ice in the Turkey Foot channel was only 1.5"
