Hate to be the negative nancy but everything I'm seeing is showing at least a warm up of 4 days with a another cold spell behind it. We are also supposed to get rain showers on 3 of these days with a possible snow mix in there. Temps will be floating around the 46deg mark on the warmest day. I cannot find an exact amount of rain in the forecast but we have about 10 inches of snow on the ground here... What do you guys think this will do to the ice? I was going to try to get out this weekend but I may be trekking it to michigan? Either way lets keep our fingers crossed, were off to a good start!

If you do the thaw rate equation it will remove 1.891" of ice. (accuweather for 43040 Thurs-Sun) I dont know how to factor in rain or the insulating property of snow. I think Wixom is a handsome option with all of the fish being caught.

I heard this morning on a Cleveland news station that some prediction models are calling for 1-2 inch's of rain fri & sat, but only warm those two days, and here in summit co we don't have nearly as much snow as you.

with the temps and the rain , :P it will seriously hurt the ice , but im going to just watch with 90% rain ouch... the ice is just now reaching 4" on some of the lakes ..but its just wait and watch...

The weather channel seems to have a good grasp on things but accuweather is about a joke IMO.
