Hi All, heading out to Alum on Sunday, probably the state marina area, and I was wondering how many tip-ups a person can have? I went to the ODNR website and this is what they had to say:
Anglers may not use more than two fishing lines, whether fastened to a pole, a rod and reel, or hand-held. Anglers may use up to three hooks on each line, except as provided in the Ohio Administrative Code.
Does anyone know if that includes tip-ups or if there's a special rule for ice fishing? This seems pretty restrictive if it includes tip-ups, and that's really how I read it. So if you're jigging, you can only have one tip-up out, by my interpretation.
In the past I have used all seven of my tip-ups, but thought I'd check the regulations this morning. Ignorance is no excuse, but it sure is blissful.

I believe it is two and six but I'll check the regs and edit this post shortly.

You are allowed 6 tip-ups and two rods. Ice is special regulations.
