Title: CJ Ice conditions
Post by: Green Pea on January 11, 2016, 07:00:05 PM
Well I have to assume CJ is making some ice. I wanted to get over there today and see if we will have clear ice forming or the cloudy stuff. Was anyone over at the marina today?

I drilled a few at the visitors center on 01/20/16 and it was about 3,4 inches about 10 feet from shore. I'll be back out this evening to check again. There was a break in the ice that ran horizontal to the shore line about 50 feet out that looked suspect. I figure when its sealed up it should be safe for me to venture out a little further to check the thickness. I'll have my ice spikes safety first, but its calling me.

Fished the marina for an hour after dark tonight. Ice was 4,5 inches about 30 to 40 feet off the rocks. Id be surprised if there wasnt a good turn out this weekend.
