Yea Rik, I'm looking out my window and watching the snow come down in earnest. I've been wanting to get to Nimi this Wed. or Thursday, but the weatherman just said- "wet, heavy snow".  Dad-blast it anyhow!

Of course we know that IBJ was correctly wanting to be LOUD. You just struck me funny.

I'm afraid Nimi will be done now. We got a lot of heavy wet snow. Just let the dog out and my first thought was this will kill Nimi. Don't know about OSP. Will have to wait and see on that one, but probably not good either.  :( :'(

This wet, heavy snow is attacking the ice not only by its weight from above , but also will act as insulation preventing the night-time cold air temps from creating new ice while transferring its warmer temps to the top of the ice.
Bad news all around for us. After this coming thaw we would need another extended deep freeze in the latter half of February to make good ice again.   >:(
