Ice is starting to form North of Hudson Bay and much of Canada now has snow....It won't be long before it has travelled south....

Any word from Dave on dock tournament ? I've been on the docks at Delaware, and there is some potential. 7' is depth. Crappies bigger than Alum. Have to go through the catfish.

Last I heard he was still trying to get in touch with someone regarding either the sailboat club or up at Delaware. That was a few days ago, not sure what the word is yet

Have to go to Michigan for that. Went to Houghton two years ago, two days after Christmas. 11" of ice.

Where are the docks at Delaware located?

Park entrance is off of Rt 23 in Delaware. Take that road to the very end and marina, boat ramp, and docks are there.

I was working on I-71 in Cleveland today and it snowed briefly!!!!!

i went out this morning at 6:30. the tarp on my atv had about an inch of water on it. froze solid. ;D ;D ;D

Same here, frost and frozen puddles all over! That crisp morning air! Can't wait to drill holes and walk on water!👍

And call me crazy but it looks like the latest map had less ice cover than the one before. Just saying. This cold blast should get us going back in the right direction tho ;D

With Sunday morning snow, surface water temps will dip below 50 and not rise any more this calender year. Hope the thermometer continues to plummet towards the freezing mark.

wow i wish i was as excited about freekin snow and freezin like you guys, so if a meteor was zipping towards us would you root it on. hahahahaha oh well hell has surely frozen over and someone has to drive the ice shanty ...keep cool guys see ya soon enough out there...( insert evil laugh here) ;D

Spent some time Sunday organizing, repairing & reviewing all my ice gear,tackle, rods & equipment. Rods are ready; but I'll most likely fiddle with them a few more times before we're drilling holes.

Passed a few ponds today that had skim ice on them, I know it won't last but sure made u think about

I saw skim ice on Grand Lake St Marys while crappie fishing on Nov. 27, 2016. Water was very shallow where it was. Only 2 keeper fish. Safe ice can't get here soon enough!

With 60's & high winds Tuesday & Weds., it doesn't bode well for drilling holes much before Xmas. My fingers are still crossed, but hopes are dwindling a little.

ok,so I was bored this morning! I took the average temperature means for 12 days starting on the 7th,according to the weather channel.The 24 hour growth chart,put us on .5",the monthly at 15 days put us on 4"
Lol,all in theory of course,just messing around,trying to get more factual predictions,Lol

I'm already planning to take quite a few days off work as soon as we have good ice. Hope to hit PLX first, Skeeter 2nd and Erie 3rd.

I hope the snow falls before the temps drop. All we need now is a thick layer of slush to mess up the ice and a layer of insulation on top to keep it from freezing nice and solid.
Gotta get the shanty out and the vexiar battery charged up!

2 weeks later and significant ice build with snow covering Canada and the mid to northern states.......

Sun. and Mon. forecast for Dayton area is terrible, above freezing and rain. Looks good after that for the rest of the week though. Wish we would get a decent layer of snow on the ground to help keep temps down so ice can start building. Hope the winds are calm when the ice starts too.
