Title: Indian saugeye
Post by: ICE COLD on December 24, 2010, 08:57:24 AM
Went to Indian Thursday. Started near Pony Island and nothing but dink gills. Made a move to Lucys Pond around 11. Same thing only smaller gills.  Then around 2:30 went out to the mouth of Blackhawk for saugeyes. Started off slow but saw a lot of saugeyes were being caught. Lot of cigars but the occasional 2-3 pounder. Saw a couple of limits. Was ou as far as you can go out before the ice ridge. A side note, don't try to cross ridge, guy went thru Wedenesday. The hot bait was what looked like a swedish pimple or buck shot colored flourescent red/orange. We had cartruese pimples and red vibees but didn't catch nearly as many as the buck shot guys. Don't know whats going on this year. Been to Indian twice and just can't seem to find the panfish. I know some guys are catching then every now and then.

I fished Wed. night at Blackhawk, from 8pm til 12am, not one bite.  I had several nice marks on the lx5 but no takers.  I had the whole lake to myself.  I stopped at all of the popular spots and didn't see one other vehicle.  Probably my last night fishing trip.

Great Report Ice Cold. Make sure you guy's down load and entry and enter your Saugeye's in the online Tournament.

Were on a mission to beat FireFish's 3 pounder.

Firefish, saw you on the ice Sunday afternoon. I was the one in the brown coveralls fishing closer to the island while you were heading out farther. How did you do? We ended up catching some fish but only about 10 keepers.
