Twin Lakes still 10" Clear plus 3" hard slush on top. Doubt the slush even melted off. Getting all kinds of panfish in 4 feet in the weeds. Perch bass and even two grass pickerel today. Ice didnt go anywhere (yet) on lakes with no flow
Am I the only one that has struggled with numbers? I have fished around 10 different lakes, all of which were at known hot spots, and very poor numbers over all. Still had a couple 50 + days but over all poor numbers? Maybe the weather and too many High Pressure Systems? CHOMP
ODNR officer told me those never propagated LOL. My uncle caught one there last spring crappie fishing about the same size. They catch a few in Long Lake too! Cool fish!
QUESTIONS: Are you aloud to have a pre set up shanty on your spot? and for Largest Non-Walleye, is that ANY species?? Never fished a Tourney, Berlin is close by. Gonna do some scouting. Also, proper safety equipment? I bring a rope and spud bar, what is the official standard? Got a partner! CHOMP! Thanks!
There is weekly info posted on the Cleveland MetroParks site. I fished Wallace and Shadow last week and shadow had stained water and still caught good trout and dinks
CAught 6 bass, one red ear and 3 dink perch. Fished both sides in between rain. SLOW!!!! Good thing is the ice is still plenty hard and only pitted about an inch. Going to refreeze tonight too!
Stayed out to 11:30. Got maybe 40 good ones and let go another 20. in 6 feet. Talked to guys fishing in 8 and they seemed to be having less luck. BTW, I think the ice will be fine from the warm up
As I was checking my snow plow sites I noticed no more than an inch of snow and most everything just a dusting. Also, the ground froze rock hard down deep. I was spud barring it and it froze down over 2 inches already. Think the "Major Storm" was a blessing! and now -14 BTW slow bite yesterday at Wallace Lake in Barea. Got one golden trout and one dink. Ice was shitty but I'm lite
