Drilled a couple of holes off boat ramp and found 4 inches of ice. Mostly cloudy ice with some patches of clear. I was by myself so I didn't venture out. Wind was howling so I didn't drop any lines.  Please remember to think before you do. It could be the difference between success and failure.

General Discussion / 2025 Size Limits Saugeye, Walleye and Sauger
« on: January 16, 2025, 04:32:59 PM »
Someone posted recently that "size limits were removed" for various lakes around Ohio. The information posted is wrong and should be corrected or removed. Please read ODNR Fishing Regulations for size limits of species for the body of water you are planning on fishing. "And remember, Go fish'n when you can, cause it's goooood fer ya!" Report from Fisherman's HQ is that they're on the ice at Indian. No report on thickness or location.

Was there late in the afternoon today 1/6 on Lucy's Pond, 8" of ice in 5ft of water.  No bites, fishing w/spikes and small jigs only fished a couple of hours.  Had a buddy that had been out there all day since 7am and didn't catch a thing.  Saw a lot of shanty's but no fish on the ice.

Bruce and I had some great times in that shanty, was really surprised by how much room it has. Two guys fit in it quite nicely and was able to fish a lot of holes ;).  Hate to lose such a great ice fishing buddy along with his shanty.

I'm not really concerned about the smell from the sausages or even the Frischs sandwiches.  Are there any other lingering odors associated with spending hours on the ice in a shanty?   :o

A friend of mine is moving South to a warmer climate and will no longer be Ice Fishing.  This shanty would be perfect for me and my other friend.  What is your bottom dollar?  ;)
