another very good looking design is the normark fin bore III, the only review was good too (has the offset handles i prefer)

the weather report looks bad. im not a fan of open water fishing at all, so im hoping the weather guessers are wrong. have been wanting to sell out and move to minnesota for quite some time. maybe i should spend the summer getting my house ready to sell. guess ill be getting out as much as possible this week

i have been using an old mora with the offset handles, 7 in cant beat it. bought a lazer when they first came out i think... dont like it at all,has the handle centered over the blades awkward to use. when my mora breaks ill be picking up a nils 6 in, looks like its by far the best design out there. dont like noisy gas augers

my son and i had a blast, it was great meeting you all. thank you Hardwater Junkie for organizing the event. looking forward to upcoming events. we may have had a slow day, but we had fun, and that is all that matters. food was fantastic, again thank you  (it is called fishing, not catching)

yeah from looking at my records, the eyes will be back on in a week or two, then it all goes south from there (ice conditions that is) guess we cant complain, its been a nice long season so far. im just hoping for march ice

we were looking for the 16 ft hole but didnt make it out far enough, we were closer to the islands than anyone else was and we would have moved but at first it was nonstop action, couldnt get my second pole in the water. after it slowed down he had me drill a few holes out further, but could only find 1 ft deeper. was wondering if the depths on the map were correct or not. i was sight fishing til my eyes started hurting, then he would tell me when they were headed my way and sure enough they would be there. also had a school of bluegill suspended in about 5-6 feet below us pass through with a few takers. i think the only clearer water i have seen was in Kippiwa up in Canada

we got 7 between 8-12 1/2 inchs... what we noticed was that its a perch, bluegill thing in the morning, then in the afternoon it seemed to be all crappie. my kid was sight fishing, so he showed me up. my eyes just arent what they use to be

hit wingfoot today, caught the tail end of the morning bite, and stayed til 8:30. green and glow seemed to do the trick with red maggots, kept 35 crappie, 15 bluegill, and 7 perch. not a bad day, crappie turned on at the end. was in 12 fow, stayed in one spot all day

ice phisher, thats what somebody else told me,rosie reds, so i looked it up and that was them. the bait guy i know might still have some, he had them all winter last year. is that marks near mogador that you were talking about? about the line, i would have to look at it, my eyesight varies with my blood sugars, so some days i leave because i got everything tangled or broke off. i like to carry at least 2 extra already rigged poles with me just in case that happens. im using trilene micro ice now. @ snowcone, the line mentioned in the post above looks pretty good if your eyes are good, i was always a firm believer in trilene, but the XT doesnt seem to be as "T" as it use to be. * tough thank you all for the input, i didnt make it up there tonight, probably wont til monday, but will post results when i do go. good luck and be safe
