General Discussion / Re: New Shanty Arrived
« on: November 23, 2018, 09:40:36 PM »
I got my Eskimo Evo 1IT cross-over shanty yesterday.  It is a combo flip-over/pop-up.  It should have lots of room for fishing and it is insulated.  Can't wait to get it assembled today and try it out as soon as we get good ice!  Let's all hope the season is a good one this year.  Do your cold dance.

I bought one last year and like the light weight but the seat I plan to upgrade and make more usable room. mine isnt insulated and still heated well.  Have you had a chance to set it up yet?

I went out yesterday Wed and got 4 and lost another 4 at the hole.  I moved twice and someone said its like turning on a switch. 20-22' NNW out Catawba State Park out in the open away from other shanty's and airboats.  Blue/Chrome #7 Jiggn raps aggressive with long pauses.  I tried other colors buckshot, swedish pimps other color jig raps but bluchrome did the damage.  all fish were 5-9lbs and next time I WILL USE A STINGER,,,,Goodluck and I wish guys wouldn't be so stingy with the reports its only fishing not your ole lady,,,
P.S. the crack ate a 4-wheeler yesterday so take your time crossing and check before you cross.  Have fun go get um and most important be safe there was a big wind out there and current was strong too

Ok I wanted to post that the area N West of Catawba is marked with Christmas trees heading due West towards Port Clinton but Caution should be used close to shore. seen a few large Gators and also talked to guys with none including me :P,  Thanks to Matt and Mike for to tow back to the park that could have been real bad :-\.  I fished in 22' marked 0 but only fished an Hr. before the breakdown goodluck if going out this weekend looks like its gonna be nasty out there.

I heard that back in the day guys would line up Christmas trees to mark a path to the Islands. between the current and the air boats running around out there you still have to use commonsense. I also wonder if the airboat guys can kill a week spot on the trail on purpose too  ???
