With the snow and slush already there combined with this warm front and possible rain ,it will test the contestants metal . And from what I witnessed ,team Carlin/Gordon are Stainlees Steel .

;DWe do have slot of lurkers ,but that's okay . I like slender spoon with a minnow head ,fished near (6")bottom. Color depends on water clarity and time of day . Jigging Rap with a minnow head . And always ,a dead stick with a minnow , usually seals the deal . Good luck and tight lines .

Good luck , tried for two years in that area through the ice . One cigar only . I must be doing something wrong . The shad were everywhere when I tried so that could have something to do with it . I never tried at night , with the gin clear water I should have tried at night . Ntoiceman36 sez I'd have better luck finding Bigfoot . Looking forward to your followup post .

good point , we don't need snow or slush and the colder temps will clean up what's on top now . Hope we do dodge the bullet .

;DThis site is here to share information . New lures techniques and equipment , ice safety and if the bite is on . Most get the concept and some don't . If you are unhappy with sharing /helping your fellow ice addicts , then that's your option . To take information from the site and when able not give back isn't right or fair . What's the harm in saying the gills are in 8 ft hitting fire tiger gill pills with one red spike dead sticked at 6 1/2 ft down near the weed line . By the time someone else reads the post a lot has changed ,light penetration ,barometric pressure and the schools location and activity . All the post gives is a starting point and a little hope , myself I enjoy someone else's success as much as my own . So I wish everyone safe ice , hungry fish and a good friend to share the day with . Tight lines

Soooo, the whiskered walleye are on the prowl again at Nimi . I haven't caught one yet this year through the ice . I must be doing something wrong .

I'm hearing from someone who fishes west branch , that it will be a hard day of fishing . That the larger crappie go on a diet in the winter . Well I'm thinking that we will see some giants again at weigh in . This will be a midwinter bite , for crappie this is suspended in the basin time . Who ever fishes the hardest and keeps on the move will come out on top . So I'm looking forward to seeing who takes it home on the 8th of February , my guess is that it will be a threepete . Any bets ?
