Alum Creek Dock Tournaments / Dock Tournament #4 CJ Brown Results
« on: December 17, 2022, 08:40:30 PM »
Dock Tournament #4 at CJ Brown Reservoir wrapped up the dock tournament season.  I want to say thank you to Leens General Store for sponsoring our tournament and allowing IFO to use their facility for setup and staging the weigh in.  So there were 8 registered participants braving the windy, cold day with some flurries.  The bite was decent for fish, as there were several turned in. The final results:

Cam Ward turned in 1 crappie - .51 lbs  and won the crappie pot
Nate Boldman turned a Channel Catfish - 2.5 lbs and won big fish
Mark Blauvet turned 5 bluegills - .91 lbs and won the bluegill pot

No walleyes/saugeyes turned in.

With this being the final dock tournament, IFO is intending to do an ice fishing tournament when there is enough ice to hold one. Location and time will be announced at a later time. I will post it in the General Discussion.

Attached are Dock tournament pictures.

Update posted by Bill Baum on Facebook:

In regards to the IFO stop #4 scheduled for Lake Erie East Harbor

Sorry for the late cancelation but we wanted to give it as much time as possible before we pulled the plug. The tournament scheduled for East Harbor this weekend is being canceled due to low water conditions.  The marina we were going to fish is down to less than 3 ft and strong WSW winds forecasted for Friday and Saturday will only make the problem worse. When we determine a make-up date and location we will make an announcement. Thank you for your understanding and again, we apologize for the late notice. — with Nathan Boldman and Ryan Kerns.

Just a heads up for everyone, the scheduled dock tournament for East Harbor is canceled.  The word is that the water levels are very low and so it makes fishing off the docks not possible.   And due to how late it is in the week, I don't think they were going to reschedule for another location.  If things change, I will try to post it ASAP.

No, dock tournament scheduled as of right know.

Alum Creek Dock Tournaments / Dock Tournament #3 result
« on: November 30, 2022, 06:50:55 PM »
Bill Baum won round 3 at Alum Creek. Turned in 2 crappies. I guess the bite was hard to come by. And having rain come just made the day a very rough one.

Well, the next stop should be East Harbor at Lake Erie.  When the information is posted on Facebook, I will let you highs know.

I will try to get the results and post it later.  Attached is the official IFO flyer for this tournament.

Alum Creek Dock Tournaments / Rocky Fork Lake Dock Tournament #2 Results
« on: November 21, 2022, 07:47:00 PM »
It was a cold and windy Dock Tournament at Rocky Fork. I believe first thing in the motor was about 18 degrees and wind gusts all day. There was about 8 participants and surprisingly a decent day of catching fish.  And the docks were pretty awesome, they were permanently attached to the concrete walkways so they did not drift away when the wind was blowing.

The results for the day:

Crappie pot winner - Nate Boldman - 5 crappies for 2.77lbs
Crappie pot 2nd place - Rusty Coe - 3 crappies for 2.29 lbs

No Saugeyes caught

Big Fish pot - Grant - 1.5lbs Channel Catfish

The crappies that were turned in were some big slabs.  Myself, I couldn’t catch legal size crappies and probably caught about 15 undersized and a slew of bluegills. Bill Baum was having a great day of crappies, until he realized he did not have the side zipped up on his ice fishing live well bag and everything he put in there had escaped out the side.  Everyone pretty much had something to weigh in.
But a couple guys didn’t weigh in their catches. The final results are attached in the photos. I unfortunately forgot to get some pictures.

So, I was incorrect about changing locations right away, but here it is already.  The second dock tournament will be at Rocky Fork Lake at Hillsboro on Saturday, Nov. 19th from 8am - 2pm.  The docks are on the south east side of the lake near the dam side off of Lucas Lane/TR266.
Be sure to visit our friends at Bayview Bait and Tackle for any bait or gear.

Also, remember to bring non-perishable foods for donations to Feeding the Future.  I was told that each person that brings in their donation will get an entry into a chance to win a prize at the end of the season.  I won’t divulge the prize/prizes until I get the OK, but I will say someone will have a very nice Christmas or a day of ice fishing from what I’ve heard.

See you guys there!
